Tumble Weeds: First grade butterflies; A lesson in leaving alone.
I remember being in the first grade when we had the in-class science project of farming butterflies! The whole class would watch as caterpillars would hide in their chrysalises before becoming butterflies. After the butterflies emerged from their chrysalises, the students would then be lead outside to the glorious moment where the butterflies were released into the free blue sky.
I remember the shiny green chrysalises. They sat in a plastic cage day and night, appearing to be doing nothing quick. As a curious little boy, I touched one of the chrysalises and leaking out of it came a slimy green caterpillar. The caterpillar thrashed about, reaching for life until it died moments later. I quickly shut the cage and walked away hoping I wouldn’t be caught.
Sometimes situations and people are better off left untouched by us. Sometimes situations and people need to sit and mature before they can fly; prevailing in abundant life. When we try to step in or try to control we can end end up stifling the beauty and growth that can ultimately lead to freedom.
You should probably watch this. Just sayin’.
Kari Jobe- Steady My Heart
This song so speaks to me.
Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. (James 1:26 NIV)
Lord help me to control the things I say and help my actions to be based on your love. -Amen
Want to read your Bible more?
Set alarms in your phone/ipod through out the day to keep it fresh in your mind. Refuse to turn them off-it may become seemingly annoying, but it seems to be working for me so far…:D

I am so blessed.
I get to live in a country where I can openly express my love for Jesus and the struggles I have with my relationship with Him! Today I went out for coffee with one of my best friends and we were talking about our walks with Jesus and there were these people sitting across from us, as they were leaving, I noticed the man had a bag from a local christian book store. Then the lady came up to us and said she overheard our conversation and thought we should read the book she was reading. It was just amazing to see how people listen in cafes and other public places. If she hadn’t been a Christian, what kind of impression would we have made upon her thoughts? More often than not, we affect those around us without even knowing it. I’m glad people are listening-but I better make each word weighted. Should not every word spoken be full of purpose and worth?
Be slow to speak.Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. -James 1:19 (NIV)

"The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."
Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)
An Artist's Heart.: my blog, my brain.
if I could impart wisdom to my followers, these would be the most relevant words in this season.
1. “Stress can be an addiction & worry can be a lunge for control. But the answer to every moment is always yes because of Christ. ” quoting @jess_ls from twitter. so wise, so true.
2. “It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.” Psalm 118:9 …even having the most wonderful man on the earth won’t satisfy your heart in the ways it needs. Only God can do that. Even when you have a gentleman who does everything right, or tries…God is the only one who can take away that unnamable feeling.
3. Letting your mind wander at night is the worst possible occurrence.
4. When God gives you a gift, natural or supernatural or whatever it may be…it’s not because you deserve it…it’s because He’s using you…don’t try to stop it or run from it..a.) because you’ll miss out on incredible God happenings, and b.) because you can’t run from God and He’ll get you to use it somehow anyway ;)
5. you are exactly where you are supposed to be.
These words could not be more true. This is exactly where I’m at. Thanks Carly! :)
Time-Pain-Healing
I’m starting to learn what it feels like when the seasons are changing.
Story Time!
Last night I babysitted a 4 yr old little girl at my chruch. She decided to read me a few stories and I took some notes.
Book: Baby Jesus; Her title: Baby Born
There was baby boy born. He was wrapped in hay and layed in a manger with his nice stinky feet.
All the people loved him and when he got older he married the sheep.
Book: Baby Moses
Baby Moses feet stink too…and then he married his mother.
“Umm I dont think that happened Eden…”
Well…it did. It doesn’t matter if it happend or not…just pretend it did.
Book: Fairyland Her title: Pink Fairy Pink
Write pink fairy pink too…cause that’s Jesus story…he made that stuff.
As she searched for more books to read to me….
“Why do you think there are so many Jesus books around here Eden?”
Cause maybe they love Jesus? I can’t stop findin’ the Jesus books. You know the Problem? They’re all Jesus books….Jesus books around here….I can’t believe there’s Jesus books around here. Wow, I dont have to read it. There’s a lot of Jesus books around here. I can’t imagine!
“You can’t imagine what Eden?”
I wanna be in the Bible.
“Why do you want to be in the bible?”
Cause I love Jesus!
